# How to Map OneDrive as a Network Drive on Cloud Servers

Some users prefer accessing OneDrive like a traditional **network drive** inside their cloud desktop.

While OneDrive normally syncs through the OneDrive folder, mapping it as a network location can help simplify access for certain workflows.

## Step 1: Get Your OneDrive CID

Open OneDrive in a browser and copy the **CID value** from the URL.

Example URL:

```
https://onedrive.live.com/?cid=XXXXXXXX
```

The CID is the unique identifier for your OneDrive storage.

## Step 2: Map the Drive in Windows

1. Open **File Explorer**
2. Click **Map Network Drive**
3. Enter the path:

```
https://d.docs.live.net/CID
```

Replace CID with your actual OneDrive ID.

## Step 3: Sign In

Enter your Microsoft 365 credentials when prompted.

The OneDrive storage will now appear as a **mapped drive in File Explorer**.

### Important Notes

[Mapping OneDrive](https://www.oneupnetworks.com/knowledgebase/getting-started-access/install-onedrive-on-cloud-hosted-server/) as a network drive does not provide full sync functionality. For most environments, using the **OneDrive sync application** remains the recommended approach.
